Bar paperwork bites.

So I am finally filling out my paperwork for the bar and they want me to provide five personal references. These people must have more than casual knowledge of me, not be relatives, and be "reputable and responsible." What the hell does this mean? What does it take to be reputable and responsible? Not being a felon? Damn this. And I still don't even know if I am taking the bar in the "right" state.
